The movie sounds a lot more interesting than his criticism of it. What's fun about Nolan is his writing -- intricate plotting, his sense of melodrama, and actual understanding of SF tropes. The notion that he should have made a 'great, untethered (no comma sic) dream movie' is fine -- and I'm sure Edelstein is up for it -- but it doesn't seem to have been of interest to Nolan.
(Calling something less nimble than "Minority Report" -- not exactly a touchstone in anyone's battery for nimble film-making-- is strange.)
