Oh, please

Clive nods, yawns, dozes off:

Benedict Cumberbatch is now back on screen as Sherlock (BBC One, Sunday). Due to the overload of techno talk, I found the first episode of the new season almost incomprehensible...

The non-geriatric Guardian says the same thing, with a look at yet another new Danish procedural series. (By the way, I heard Gatiss, the writer/provocateur/actor (Mycroft) behind the series, on the radio and he pronounces his name "Gate-iss" Points if you ever get to use his name in a conversation...)

I enjoyed Steven Moffat's high octane scattergun opener last week, but it was a bit of a confusing mish-mash. This one, Mark Gatiss's take on The Hound of the Baskervilles, is better still.

I enjoyed it pretty much non-stop. Best not to watch if you've just eaten, perhaps.

It's great fun.

Is there anyone who reads this blog who does not have access (by means fair or foul) to any television program made anywhere in the world?

If you think about it, that's pretty extraordinary....

2nd episode "Hounds of Baskerville" shows signs of strain. Still fun, but no longer seemingly effortless.

3rd ep "The Fall of Reichenbach" a return to form. Also makes a 3rd season all but mandatory.
