I've never seen (or heard) this one, thanks for sharing Chute. Godspeed Mr. Barry, thanks for all the beautiful music.
One of six films directed (and this case written) by James Clavell.
A wonderfully dark tale set in the 30 years war. What I particularly enjoy about the piece is that it doesn't make the common "It's all about Catholics vs. Protestants" mistake.
I saw its original release in Annapolis, MD.
Hearing the music again I think he may have recycled some of it for "King Kong" a few years later -- a score that even Kael liked.
