A wonderfully dark tale set in the 30 years war. What I particularly enjoy about the piece is that it doesn't make the common "It's all about Catholics vs. Protestants" mistake.
I saw its original release in Annapolis, MD.Hearing the music again I think he may have recycled some of it for "King Kong" a few years later -- a score that even Kael liked.
