Perfect choice to direct "Loutallica" video
UPDATE: Vladimir, by contrast, was almost pathologically insensitive to music, which he once described as “an arbitrary succession of more or less irritating sounds.” (From a review of a new book about VN.)

This whole controversy makes me think about a couple of things I read recently, can't remember where... The notion is that the only acceptable cultural prejudices among educated white people are the elements of white working class culture: religion, Nashville pop, big pickups/SUVs, talk radio, voting Republican, eating at sit down chain restaurants, obesity, etc.
Among these things is heavy metal...
Under that notion, Reed is a class and cultural traitor. And must be punished
I'll buy you the album if you promise to listen to it all the way through.
A generous offer, but I'm interested enough that I may well buy it myself...
A full report is expected -- with video of your cats listening to it.
BTW, it isn't that Lou and -tallica decided to work together. I would applaud that. Heavy metal covers of Velvets songs? I'm there. It's the choice of subject matter that establishes a new benchmark for pretensiousness. With that, and their comments, it's a real-life Onion article.
I purchased the album today, and will share thoughts on it later.
Unlike the critic you presented earlier, I enjoyed the Metallica/Reed R&R Hall performance. It was one of the better performances at one of the worst concert of all time.
